GA CITIES WEEK 2007

The City of Baxley is pleased to annouce its 2007 Winners for the "If I Were Mayor" essay contest. Each year, 6th grade students are asked to write a one-page essay detailing the changes they would make in the community if they were mayor. One winner is chosen from each of the three teams at the Middle School.  They enjoy a luncheon with the Mayor and City Manager, and present their essays to the City Council at a regular meeting.

 

 

 

 In Addition, the City Manager visits the 7th graders each year and educates them on various facts about Baxley.  A jepordy-like "Quiz Bowl" is then held. The winners from that competition have also been announced. Their pictures are below. Congratulations and A job well done to the students!!!
