Canoe or Kayak the Altamaha River

Bicentennial Altamaha River Excursion

Help us kick off Appling County's Bicentennial Festival with a leisurely paddle down the Mighty Altamaha River.  Our most popular river excursion of the year will begin at Town's Bluff and will conclude at Deen's Landing.  Two-thirds of the way down the river, everyone will stop and enjoy a hearty lunch at Benton Lee's Steakhouse.

Cool crisp fall mornings and bright blue skies with fluffy white clouds make this the perfect time of year for the whole family to enjoy this wonderful resource that is right here in our very own backyard.
